Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5 September in the remembrance of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, wonderful teacher, philosopher and second president of India.

He was also the record holder of Bharat Ratna, which is highest civilian award in India in 1954.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888.He served as a professor at recognized institutions such as the University of Calcutta and Oxford University.
When he became the president of India he was visited in school and students requested him to celebrate his birthday on September 5.
From Now onwards, the students dedicated the day to teachers. Thus, September 5 being observed as Teacher’s Day in India.
This day students organize programme in school and institutions like giving speeches on occasion, performed drama on skit, sing songs, perform dance etc.
Teacher’s day on September 5 is not only celebration of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary, but it also celebrated for our teacher’s hardwork and determination which they shows us whole year with dedication.
